Stephen Walsh is the founder of Elite Performance Coaching. Stephen has recently graduated from the University of Limerick with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Sport and Exercise Science after spending four years there. It is here that he has gained extensive knowledge in Physiology, Sport Psychology, Biomechanics, Nutrition, Sports Injuries and Sports Peformance. He also holds a certificate in strength and conditioning in rugby (level 1) and several other football coaching badges.
Previous to beginning his education into sport and exercise science, Stephen had played football with Limerick FC at U19 level for three years and spent a year involved at senior level. This is where his passion and drive for sports performance was born.
Since then he has held numerous coaching positions at a wide range of age groups from 5 to 21 years old. Stephen has also had the benefit of coaching in different environments from grass roots clubs, to a high performance environment at a category one professional academy. It is through these different experience that he has gained a lot of his practical coaching ability.
Stephen is currently involved with Total Football Academy as a coach and sport scientist, where he has held this position since April 2016.
